Yaletown Sub-Area Created by REBGV

Blog by Jeff Fitzpatrick | June 17th, 2011

Yaletown is officially on the map! The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV), effective yesterday, Thursday, June 16th, renamed the Vancouver West “False Creek North” (VVWFCN) sub-area to “Yaletown” (VVWYA). In addition to the name change (which in our opinion, is much more fitting), this newly renamed sub-area has also been expanded past Pacific Boulevard to include the area within the boundaries of Richards to Smithe, as shown below.

If you’ve got a keen eye for detail (or live in the Olympic Village), you might also notice another slight change to the REBGV map. The sub-area boundaries of “False Creek” (VVWFC) have also been pushed past Cambie to Ontario Street. This change means that the Olympic Village area, formally part of “Mount Pleasant” (VVWMP) is now more suitably included in the “False Creek” (VVWFC) sub-area.
