Affordable Housing at 21 Doors by The Salient Group

Blog by Jeff Fitzpatrick | September 20th, 2011

The Salient Group will be giving a 4 storey, 1980s building a much needed face-lift and renaming it 21 Doors (can you guess how many units are in this development?). Although not the first to attempt resurrection of this bank-owned Downtown Eastside building, Robert Fung, President of The Salient Group, is determined to turn it into affordable housing that will attract “people who work in the area and understand the neighbourhood and aren’t there because they are expecting it to change.”

If you already find yourself hanging out in this neighbourhood, drinking lattes while working on your laptop in Nelson the Seagull or stopping by the newly renovated Save-On-Meats (which by the way, will be featured on the Food Network's hit show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives) for lunch, 21 Doors may be just the place for you! Units start selling October 15th, 2011 and construction is expected to be complete by November of this year!
